It will be unique and it could be yours and then you could share it out of GarageBand into iTunes and then use it elsewhere. So if you are looking to actually create your own music, say for background to videos or something else you can actually use this very simple technique to create kind of a drum loop. Basically, painstakingly build a beat exactly. Take them out or move them so you can really have a lot of control over what you want. You can hit edit and in there you can actually see the different drum hits and you can actually stretch them out or shorten them. Tap on it and it gives you a bunch of options here. One thing I do want to show you is that you can actually edit this. Now that you've got that you can play it back and when you go to look at your song you see that your recorded track is in there. Now you can record here and record what you want. You can see some of them are a selection of buttons and others are like visual drum kits that you can play. This gives you what looks like a drum kit and you can tap on anything you want and it even makes different sounds depending on where on the instrument that you hit. Now let's select that track here and delete it and record drums the other way which is to use the regular Drums here. You go to the tracks icon and it goes there and you can see there at the drums the section you have recorded right there and that is how you get it into a song so you can add other instruments. Hit the stop button at the top to stop it and now that green area there is the area that you have recorded.Īt the top you've got the little drum icon and then your tracks icon. You can make changes live while this is happening or just let it record what you've got there so far. Now once you like what you've got you can simple hit the record button at the top of the screen and that will record what is going on. You can also shut it off by hitting the little power button to the left and that allows you to drag things in and then kind of quiet it down for a second while you plan your next move. You can also hit the randomized button there at the bottom left just to create a different one. You can drag anyone you want off like that. It is very easy just to basically drag these around and create countless number of different loops. The tambourine in but very quietly simply. Say if I wanted it to be a little bit louder. Place them wherever you want on the grid and you can adjust it. So now the idea is to drag various icons over. It gets even more complex if you go all the way to the right. Put it over here and now you can hear there is actually three different hits to it each time around. Whereas if I moved the drum over a couple, it gets a little more complex. Put it in here we can put it all the way to the left and it will be very simple and we can hear it just basically ticking away. Left to right changes the variation on it.įor instance if we wanted to do say just a snare drum. You can see the grid vertically represents the volume for the beat. You can click and drag, tap and drag over into the grid. So the buttons on the right, they are really icons. That determines what buttons you see on the right. So let's start with say a classic studio kit. So on the left you can choose the type of drum that you want. What SmartDrums does is it presents you with this grid and it presents you with buttons on the left and right. You can use the Drums or if you flip through you can use SmartDrums. Now there are two different ways to add a drum track. So let's launch GarageBand and start by creating a new song. On today's episode let's look at creating the drum track. Today's episode is a first in a series where I will teach you how to make your own music with GarageBand for iPad. Before the update I was a jack of all trades that excelled in hacking that made every combat encounter a walk in the park. Skill trees are no longer minimal stat boosts but instead ability based, allowing for more meaningful character builds. In this update, the gameplay mechanics have received an entire reworking. 2.0 is available to all owners of Cyberpunk 2077 on current generation consoles and PC (sorry PS4 and Xbox One players!). It’s hard to talk about Phantom Liberty without mentioning Cyberpunk 2077 ’s “2.0 update” that the expansion uses as a framework. Where does Phantom Liberty fall? Is it a redemption for Cyberpunk 2077 ? Does it meet the level of quality that CDPR are known for with their previous Witcher expansions Heart of Stone and Blood & Wine ? Is it even fun? I’m happy to report that not only does Phantom Liberty help Cyberpunk 2077 reach new heights with a level of quality reminiscent of CDPR’s previous work, but it also might be one of my favorite gaming expansions I’ve ever played. It felt like the perfect time for CDPR to move on and delve into a new side of Night City that hadn’t been explored before.Įnter Phantom Liberty, the lone expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 and send off to this tumultuous ride. They toiled away on updates and fixes and even launched the long promised next-gen version along with sunsetting the previous generation versions in the “ Edgerunners ” update last year. In one fell swoop, over 13 years of hype and the reputation of developer of CD Projekt Red were permanently altered in the eye of the public.īut CD Projekt Red never gave up on the title. The issues and backlash were so bad that retailers began to accept returns and the game was straight up removed from the PlayStation store. Released in 2020, the game came in hot with a plethora of issues and game-breaking bugs on current generation consoles and PCs and inexcusable performance issues on last generation consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One. Cyberpunk 2077 has had a bumpy ride to say the least. 11/14/2023 0 Comments Hackng phone in vicinityObviously, the severity of the violation will dictate the punishment – but at the least, trafficking in passwords or accessing information can carry a large fine (often $5,000+) or a 1-5 year prison sentence.Īt the other end of the scale, hacking to obtain government national security information can potentially carry a 10-year sentence – and that’s assuming a government law enforcement agency that has put the case together doesn’t tie it into a broader violation of national security or wire fraud laws. Prison sentences are often handed down for criminal violations of hacking laws. What kind of penalties can you expect for computer network-related hacking crimes? New York State laws relating to computer crimeĪlthough it’s often federal law enforcement that brings charges when people are accused of hacking (often because data and networks cross into different states or countries), different states also have their own hacking laws. Today, allegations made to the Internet Crime Complaint Center that relate to the misuse of computer messages (including those sent over social media), emails, text messages, unauthorized access to websites, and personal data breaches can all lead to hacking charges. Since the definition of ‘computer’ has fairly recently extended to include cell phones and mobile internet devices, the scope of these crimes becomes much wider. However, since almost all Americans now have internet access and at least one computer or smart device – the law now extends to include virtually all the computers in the county – including cell phones, laptops, tablets, desktop PCs, and commercial servers. The law was actually originally passed in 1986 to protect government and financial institutions from cybercrime and attacks. Most criminal prosecutions relating to hacking that are tried in the United States are done so under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) – a federal law that prohibits unauthorized access to an individual’s or company’s computers or systems.

To crop an image using the Crop Tool, first select the tool from the toolbar or press C. Lastly, you can reset the crop box and aspect ratio using the curved arrow icon, cancel the crop, or accept the crop using the check icon. However, the program usually incorrectly fills in more complex spaces with various textures, colors, and tones. The content-aware option works well when extending areas with consistent color, like the sky. The content-aware option enables you to extend the image, and Photoshop fills in the extra space with what the program thinks is the correct pixels. The next two check boxes let you delete the cropped pixels - which means you can’t undo the crop later on - and make a content-aware crop. In the Options bar, click the Gear icon for more settings, such as showing the cropped area and changing the opacity. In the Overlay menu, you can also choose to show or hide the overlay. Select a crop overlay to crop the photo using common compositions such as the Rule of Thirds (the crop tools default overlay), Golden Ratio, or Golden Spiral. There are shortcuts for the overlay options, which are to press O to cycle through the overlay options and press Shift + O to change the orientation when using the Triangle or Golden Spiral overlays. These options add a light gray overlay to the canvas to provide guidance when you crop the image. Overlay Settingsįurther on, you can choose an Overlay Option in the drop-down menu by clicking the grid icon. I will go into detail about this feature later on. This tool is helpful when correcting pictures with horizon lines or vertical lines on a building - especially when a tripod wasn’t available during shooting. Next in the Options bar is the Straighten feature, which allows you to fix up any images that are slanted. You can use the drop-down menu to toggle between pixels per inch or pixels per centimeter. When the Aspect Ratio is set to W x H x Resolution, the settings will change, giving you a third box to add a resolution value. Press the Clear button to remove the values from the boxes. The two arrows in between the boxes let you quickly swap the values around, switching the width and height constraints. Type a value in each box to set the Width (the first box) and the Height (the second box). Next in the Options bar is the space to input your own ratio values. Lastly, in the menu, you can save your own crop presets using the New Crop Preset option and then Delete Crop Preset if you’re no longer using them. This means you can crop the length of the image without affecting the height or vice versa. The unconstrained option allows you to free-crop the image without a set ratio. The default ratios are common photo ratios used in print.įurther down in the menu, you can also choose specific pixel sizes for your image, along with pre-set Pixels Per Inch (PPI) resolutions. These ratios are helpful if you need to re-size a picture that will be printed and placed in a specific frame size or to keep the original ratio of the photo. The next group of options lets you choose one of Photoshop’s default aspect ratios to crop the image to. Choosing Ratio or W x H x Resolution lets you input the specific values yourself. The first setting is the Aspect Ratio drop-down menu that allows you to set and change the ratio of the crop. Before you use the Crop Tool, it’s a good idea to understand what each setting does to get the most out of the tool. Once you select the Crop Tool ( C) from the toolbar, various settings appear in the Options bar for you to customize the tool. 11/14/2023 0 Comments Diy envelope designIf you're planning to DIY your invitations and save the dates, why not take it a step further and make your envelopes too? 11/13/2023 0 Comments Mad men christina hendricks"I mean, I was because he'd seemed so great… um… and, you know, we'd just been at Sundance with him the week before and he seemed fantastic. I feel lucky to have gotten to work with him. I guess, when I watch the film now, I feel like it's a celebration of him. "But something about Philip… I keep thinking I'm going to see him again. "I was saying to my husband that sometimes when you have a friend who passes, it feels very, very final," she says, and her eyes become filmy as she turns away and stares at the tablecloth. He died in February, shortly after the film premiered at Sundance. She says it is difficult watching the film now, knowing that Seymour Hoffman has gone. A tale of violence, betrayal and grief ensues. Her husband (Seymour Hoffman) tries to find out what really went on. Jeanie's son dies in the opening scenes and she becomes convinced the town is covering up the real story of his death. Hendricks plays Jeanie Scarpato, a trapped housewife who never quite escaped her small town. Hendricks is promoting her new feature film, God's Pocket, directed by her Mad Men colleague John Slattery (who plays Roger Sterling) and co-starring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. But she's thinking, 'Do I deserve it? I've got to give a list of why I deserve it.' Whereas a man will just go in and ask for a raise. There's been a lot of research done recently and, more often than not, if a woman goes in to ask for a raise, she'll get it. As women, we feel we can't ask for things. Certainly in the respect and position, you feel like, 'Am I allowed to ask these questions or contribute in this way?'… Society has conditioned you that way. "You know, it's difficult in the arts to pinpoint it but there's sexual harassment at work every single day, all day long. I wonder: has Hendricks ever experienced sexism in the acting industry? "Oh sure," she says, matter of factly. The key to Joan is that she establishes her power using her intelligence and the limited means available to her as a woman in an era of institutionalised sexism and unequal pay. But I can only take so much and then I jump back. "I probably tend to get my feelings hurt more. "I hope so… I've got a little sass in me." She narrows her eyes, tilts her head and smiles in what can only be described as a demonstration of uber-sass. Has playing Joan rubbed off on Hendricks's personality? "I watched what people responded to in Joan, and she's so many things, but I think it's her strength, resilience and confidence." "I guess I was surprised," Hendricks says when we meet in Joe Allen, a basement restaurant in the theatre district on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Has she been shocked at the response to Joan and, by extension, to herself? I imagine it's a lot of pressure to have to live up to being the ultimate woman since Eve. "Oh, that's so nice," Hendricks says, pressing her hands to her chest as if accepting a prize. When I told people I was interviewing Hendricks, a female friend pleaded with me to tell her she thought Hendricks was "the ultimate woman since Eve". Googling her name will throw up websites called things such as " Admiring Christina Hendricks" and a Tumblr devoted to answering the question " What Would Joan Do?", which resolves modern etiquette dilemmas by channelling Hendricks's character in Mad Men (on relationships: "Anyone who you have to convince to be with you isn't worth convincing"). Much has been made of her extraordinary looks that hark back to a bygone age of glamour – her curves, her auburn hair (dyed red because she loved Anne of Green Gables as a child) and her translucent skin.Ī 2010 poll of female readers for Esquire magazine named her "the sexiest woman in the world". Her portrayal of Joan Harris, the sassy 60s secretary who rises to be partner of an advertising agency in the hit series Mad Men, has won her critical plaudits, Emmy nominations and the slathering admiration of a legion of borderline-obsessive fans.Īt 39, Hendricks is – unusually for a female celebrity – loved in equal measure by men and women.
